Dear readers and followers of my blog,

unfortunately unknown assholes had hacked my blog several weeks ago and I can only write posts here again since it has been successfully recovered these days.

What has anyhow called my critical attention since the beginning of this year was the fact, that lots of arabic and russian language comments had appeared in my posts, which I always always immediately deleted. No idea, whether this had to do with the hack.

Anyhow I have – thanks to my good friend Phelipe Santos from my incredibly creative Brazilian digital marketing supporters from Amplia Soluções ( https://ampliasolucoes.com.br/home/) – overcome this nightmare.

Just to give You an update on how I have been doing since my last post here in my blog. I continue fully busy as General Manager of the Brazilian subsidiary of the – in terms of global market and technology leadership – leading German power transmission components supplier RINGSPANN (https://www.ringspann.com/en). Our Brazilian team continues to grow strongly and we are highly successful with the extension of our market participation allover Brazil.

RINGSPANN do Brasil – the best team in the world – together with my colaborators Maura, Celso, Elisvelto, Guilherme, Leandro and Renato.

For this reason I have recently decided, to finish my former contract as exclusive comercial representant of the also – in its segment – leading German industrial company Poppe + Potthoff Maschinenbau GmbH. Priorities needed to be defined and I have always been fast and consequent in doing this.

What else important to report here? Well, my wife and I managed to – as every year – “flee” for 1 week over my – this time 69th – birthday to the breathtakingly beautiful small holiday resort Trancoso in the South of Bahia, Where we – despite mixed weather – enjoyed a wonderful time.

Not to forget – our 21 year old son Gabriel Hepp de Brito (https://www.linkedin.com/in/gabriel-hepp-de-brito-369b67295/), who initiated his studies of economics at IBMEC in São Paulo, continued these at UC Berkely (https://www.berkeley.edu/) during the last two semesters and who is now moving to New York (https://www.nyu.edu/) for finishing his studies there until the end of next year, came to visit us together with his Californian girlfriend Giovana (her father is American, her mother is Brazilian and she was born in Hawai) over his university vacations for doing an four weeks internship at a M&A boutique in São Paulo.

Two weeks ago a great South African friend of mine, Sodhie Naicker (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sodhie-naicker-a4492418), Non- Executive Director at DMT United Kingdom and Director at DMT Kai Batla South Africa (https://miningontop-africa.com/partner/dmt-kai-batla/), a multidisciplinary mining and engineering consultancy based in Johannesburg operating across the African continent and belonging to the German DMT Group (https://www.dmt-group.com/), let me know that he has just published his book “Initiate & Disrupt”.

For sure I ordered immediately a copy of it and when it arrived a few days later at my home, I had a very quick read throught it. I was amazed, because Sodhie shares in it his own lifelong extensive management experiences, especially with regards to entrepreneurial spirit and actitude.

So I decided to give this copy of the book to my son Gabriel, just before he left back to the USA. And I ordered directly ten more copies of the book, because I thought it an excelent idea to give copies of it to my young, English speaking RINGSPANN do Brasil (https://www.ringspann.com.br/pt/contato/brasil) team mates and to several other young friends.

My enthusiasm for reading and for literature in general has started early in my life at the age of six or seven years and occupies me – without ever losing its fascination – to this day.

Since many years I love to read diferent books simultaneously and in the diferent languages – German, Portuguese, English, Spanish and French – which I have learned in between.
Actually I am reading diferent titles – coincidentially most of them in portuguese versions.

I like to read different stuff – ultimately I have become very interested in philosophical and anthropological titles

But I also like very much to read national and international newspapers and magazines. Especially during my breakfast I enjoy quick looks into several German, Brazilian, Spanish and American and French newspapers. Articles which interest me more deeply, I use to read in peace in the evening.

Several of these newspapers and magazins (Economist, New York Times, El Pais, Le Monde, Valor Económico, Estadão, Veja I have subscribed – all others I only use for reading the freely available content

Good enough for today. Job done!

I think it`s definitely not too late to wish you all a Happy New Year 2026. 

I am currently on a plane back to Vinhedo, São Paulo, from Recife, Pernambuco, where I spent a wonderful week of holidays together with my wife and son over year`s end and from where I worked online all last week.

Yes – it`s true, that life can be sweet …

Recife has become my second home since our wedding there 22 years ago and the purchase of a small but lovely apartment near Candeias Beach about 18 years ago, when we were still living in Mexico.

Since arriving in Brazil in 1996, I’ve had a great passion for the Brazilian Northeast, where the sun shines almost all year round and it’s practically never colder than 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). And, of course, because of the incredibly beautiful beaches.

The reason for this post is very special. Last night, I posted on my company KFH Services’ LinkedIn page about an episode from 1986, when I graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and began my professional career, back then still in Germany.

In my post, I expressed my skepticism about Trump’s obsession with the massive exploitation of Venezuela’s oil reserves. I also mentioned PDVSA, the Venezuelan state-owned oil company.

Almost immediately after the publication of my post, biased and dialectical comments followed from PDVSA representatives, which I initially tried to politely evade. However, since they remained persistent, I gave a stronger reply and declared the discussion over.

I found it truly impressive how closely these people and their organizations monitor the comments of others. The arrogance and hyprocrasy of their biased comments also deeply impressed me. Apparently, these people think we’re all idiots.

But what impressed me even far more was that LinkedIn deleted my post this morning, after it had already been seen by around 1,000 readers. They removed not only the post from KFH Services’ company page, but also the re-shared version on my personal Linkedin page.

These people are doing a truly outstanding job. LinkedIn, of course, didn’t give any explanations to me.

I assume this wasn’t just a decision by LinkedIn. Apparently, Mr. Trump and/or someone from his team or his agencies also disliked my post.

When I wrote the post, I just wanted to share my experiences as a young German engineer 40 years ago, working on processing Venezuelan heavy oil and oil sands, with my followers and the public.

I had no idea what kind of attention—and whose attention!—I would attract.

Perhaps I was simply too naive. But I can’t help it; I always try to think positively. Even now! All this makes finally also part of my lifelong learning process…

I have no idea if or how this blog post will actually reach you, but I’m sharing the text of my post from yesterday here with you:

“Trump’s wishful thinking about Venezuela’s immense crude oil reserves makes me chuckle over an episode from my own early professional life.

As a recent graduate in chemical engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), specializing in the chemistry and technology of gas, oil, and coal, as well as combustion technology, I accepted an invitation from the then VEBA Oel AG (now E.On) to join the Ruhroel refinery in Gelsenkirchen-Scholven in January 1985 and began my career there as a technical trainee in the process development department.

At that time, VEBA OEL AG had just acquired extensive extraction rights for heavy oils and oil sands from Lake Orinoco through a share swap with PDVSA. The contract with PDVSA stipulated the construction of a large-scale plant for heavy oil hydrogenation using the Fischer-Tropsch process, incorporating German know-how to be provided by VEBA OEL AG.

Incidentally, SASOL still produces gasoline from coal on an industrial scale in South Africa today, using this old German process.

Against this backdrop, we operated pilot plants for the smoldering, hydrogenation, and gasification of heavy oils and oil sands on an industrial scale in Scholven at that time.

I myself was the plant manager responsible for the smoldering pilot plant and worked very closely with my colleagues at the hydrogenation and gasification pilot plants on a day-to-day basis.

The irony of the whole thing, however, was that VEBA OEL AG actually no longer possessed any of its own former know-how regarding any of these processes.

Our only source was a vast amount of re-filmed documents from US archives about the large-scale plants with which the Hitler regime had produced gasoline from German lignite during the Second World War.

But in the end, this was truly a completely unrealistic undertaking, akin to a futile endeavor.

Anyhow with the outbreak of the Second Iran-Iraq War in 1986 and the immediate, drastic drop in the price of crude oil on the world market, coupled with the sudden resignation of VEBA OEL AG CEO Rudolf Christian von Bennigsen-Foerder for health reasons, the joint project was quickly discontinued and the cooperation agreement between VEBA OEL AG and PDVSA was terminated.

In my opinion, Mr. Trump will also experience a rude awakening with Venezuelan oil. Whether he will escape unscathed remains to be seen.”

Incidentally, during my studies at KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Engineering), I read “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, a novel written in 1931 and published in 1932. Set largely in a futuristic World State whose citizens are genetically modified for a social hierarchy based on intelligence, the novel anticipates major scientific advances in reproductive technology, sleep learning, psychological manipulation, and classical conditioning, which combine to create a dystopian society challenged by the story’s protagonist. Given the great analogies in this sense, it seemed only logical to publish this blog post under the title “Welcome to the Brave New World 2026”.

In my youth and as a young man, I was incredibly fortunate to live in a peaceful world. The wars of that time took place far away from what we considered the free, Western world. The USA was synonymous with peace, democracy, and culture. At least we Germans, in particular, understood it that way.

But since then, much has changed dramatically. Lately, I’ve been seriously wondering what the difference is today between countries like the USA, China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela (!) and others when it comes to democracy, freedom of expression, freedom of thought, constant surveillance and intimidation.

And today, another very negative fact became painfully clear to me: We are all—whether we like it or not—completely dependent on unethical companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, and Meta, which have willingly offered themselves up as tools and helpers of the US government.

But – no pain, no fun! No need to whine and cry. And we shouldn’t forget: diamonds are formed under pressure!

Hi my dear friends, followers, coleagues, clients, competitors and whoelse and whereever you were.

Tomorrow I will have to leave very early with our driver for São Paulo, where I will attend an important Zero Carbon event, before the oficial opening of the exciting 2nd Horasis Global Meeting South America, also in São Paulo tomorrow night.

I will be able to participate in this event together with hundreds of excelent, distinguished friends and colleagues from allover the world, incl. my active participation as panel speaker. But I will participate in this event only until thursday afternoon, because I need to fly to Navegantes in the South Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, to where I have been invited by my friend Stephan Camp, the MD of Schottel do Brasil, a very important German supplier of state-of-the-art propulsion systems and highest quality maintenance services for the Brazilian marine and naval industries, to the oficial opening of the new factory of Schottel do Brasil in Itajaí.

Fortunately my wife will join me at Itajaí during thursday night for accompanying me to the Schottel event and we will arrive back home again from Itajaí next week saturday night only.

Two weeks later I will participate in an important mining industry event in Minas Gerais during sunday & monday, before I will continue from there for the rest of the week to Salvador in the Northeastern “African-Brazilian” (historically and culturally spoken) state of Bahia, where my RINGSPANN do Brasil colleague Celso, our Sales & Engineering Manager, and I will attend the big Brazilian EXPOSIBRAM 2025 mining industry exhibition and two important side events.

I tell you all this because it leads me to the subject of this blog post.

Since many years, but especially since my “retirement” mid last year, many friends, colleagues and contacts ask me repeatedly how – I assume amongst other reasons because of my admittedly quite advanced age – I can be continuously so extremely active and productive as I obviously am.

First of all I am convinced, that the fact, that my whole life long I have always dedicated all my private & professional activities to subjects, which have interested me, together with people who I like and who have motivated and supported me, made me target driven like a Tomahawk missile.

But another important reason is that I always am able to develop an enormous passion for what I am doing and this strengthens and motivates very positively all my team mates, supporters and even bystanders.

As a general recipe for success I would like to mention my “core activities approach”, which since decades makes me focus completely on activities, which only I can do by myself, while I regard everything, that I can delegate or outsource to fully reliable supporters resp. service providers of my trust, as secondary for me.

During this week I had a very nice conversation with a befriended young Brazilian lady, Dra. Ana Carolina, who is a doctor.

I do not recall how we finally came to this subject, but I told her, that as a young boy at the age of 5 years my parents submitted me to a – from our today`s view – controvercial and largely unproven treatment called “Fresh Cell Therapy”, which had gained notoriety in the mid-20th century in Europe and especially in Germany and Switzerland.

What is it?
It involves injecting cells, tissues, or organ extracts from animals (usually fetal sheep or calves) into humans. The idea is that these animal cells, still alive and “fresh,” can somehow “rejuvenate” or “repair” damaged tissues and organs in the human body, improving health and vitality.

How does it supposedly work (the theory behind it)?
The (unproven) theory behind fresh cell therapy is based on the belief that:

Organic compatibility: Cells from specific animal organs (e.g., sheep liver cells for a diseased human liver) would have an affinity or capacity to regenerate the corresponding organ in the human recipient. Rejuvenation: Cell extracts contain growth factors, enzymes, hormones, and other bioactive substances that could stimulate cell regeneration, strengthen the immune system, and combat aging.

The treatment of Pope Pius XII in 1954 sparked a temporary rise in popularity for fresh cell therapy. Many prominent figures were subsequently treated with this method, including Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie and Emperor Hirohito.

Until the 1980s, the therapy was relatively widespread in Europe; in Germany, celebrities such as Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, publisher Axel Springer, national football coach Helmut Schön, Fritz Walter, and actor Willy Millowitsch were also treated.

Since 2021, this therapy has been banned in Germany.

I would never go so far to attribute seriously my later-on “nuclear energy plant characteristic” to this therapy, but Ana Carolina and I have been laughing a lot about this very long completely forgotten story of my childhood in Germany.

Now to the admittedly provocative title of this blog post.

When friends question me, whether I would not like to really retire one day in the future, I always ask them, how would such “real retirement”, as they describe it, look like?

And I ask them, “can you imagine Mick Jagger as a “real retiree”, as you use to call it?

Sorry, but no chance. I strongly believe – and not only since today – that I make part of the same tribe as Mick Jagger, who has been my absolute idol since the 60s, when he founded the Rolling Stones and started to conquer the stages and charts.

Hello, friends and followers of my blog. I freely admit it was time to write a new post here after four whole months of laziness. Thank you to everyone who woke me up and asked me to do this. Okay, everyone, here it goes.

First, I’d like to explain something many of my friends and contacts around the world have been asking. Their question was: what makes me write?

I simply love writing…

Well, it certainly wasn’t the slightest intention of lecturing the rest of the world. I’ve developed writing since childhood as a unique art of self-expression, which helps me develop and refine my thoughts. That’s why writing has become one of my favorite leisure activities. And it simply entertains me immensely and helps me relax and distract myself from the many of my routine daily activities.

Neuroscientists and followers of the Freudian school believe in the great importance of our nighttime dreams for “cleansing” the brain. I rarely have nighttime dreams, but I firmly believe that writing has the same effect.

I just checked my calendar and it says that, since my last blog post, I was in Germany for a week to visit several clients, and I’ve been traveling quite frequently in Brazil,

Quick & short, but intensive & productive. Impressions from my customer visits in Germany during May…

and I have just returned from a trip to California with my wife and son.

I’ll talk more about this trip later.

Over the past four months, I’ve also attended several interesting events, such as the American Chamber’s CEO Day, the ADAPTA AI Summit Brazil, the launch of three new books, “Success Stories,” where I wrote the foreword for one of them, the FENASUCRO exhibition, and a few others.

And we had a wonderful Inauguration event for RINGSPANN do Brazil, the company for which I am acting as General Manager.

Not to forget my “escape week” with my wife over my birthday to Belo (this is true !!!) Horizonte and our VALE train ride to beautiful Vitoria in Espirito Santo state.

Our trip to San Francisco was very special. First, because we accompanied our beloved son Gabriel to Berkeley, where he began his semester as exchange student in economics. We were all very excited to get there. And for the three of us, it was our first visit to California.

Personally, I have had my head full of memories, impressions and feelings of my childhood in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Hippie culture, flower power, and rock ‘n’ roll, images and music from the Easy Rider and Woodstock movies, and so on.

Sweet memories of an exiting time and culture long long (pre Trump) ago…

None of that—as I already knew and expected—exists any longer there. To be honest, I found it pleasant to explore San Francisco for practically an entire week, but I see no reasonable reason to return.

What struck me most negatively was the extreme poverty of many people living on the road in this city and—as I’ve already learned from other places during my countless business trips to the United States over the past 25 years—the very poor gastronomic offerings. My wife and I preferred to eat all day in Asian restaurants, as they were the only places where we found truly delicious and healthy food.

The Asian food in San Francisco was delicious, but I clearly prefer our Brazilian China Town “Liberdade” in São Paulo, which as a quarter is very beautiful and offers plenty more options than Chinatown in San Francisco

Time to mention something really beautiful about San Francisco: we loved seeing—and walking across—the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, an impressive man-made and engineering monument. It’s definitely worth seeing!

Another criticism, which just confirmed what I already knew from practically all my previous trips to this “promised land.” The quality of service, regardless of which category, is almost the worst possible, mainly due to the poor qualification of the people who provide it, something I’ve already observed during all my countless travels around the world over the past 40 years, including to many poor countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

Berkely is a small, ancient city (as far as such term makes sence, knowing that the USA are a quite new country without to much history) where everything revolves around the University of California.

The prestigious university welcomes about 40,000 students—many of them international—and boasts a spacious, wonderful campus, complete with cafes, gyms, and numerous libraries.

My son pointed out to me—what I hadn’t known before—that Oppenheimer had spent time working in Berkeley before moving to Arizona to take on his leadership role in the Manhattan Project.

No doubt – my wife and I are terribly proud of our great son and his guest semester in economy in at the University of California in Berkely, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world

Our visit to the infamous prison island of Alcatraz left us, like most visitors, feeling overwhelmed upon returning.

Alcatraz reminded me of what Johnny Cash sang about San Quentin: “A living hell”…

A complete disaster—with the sole exception of our visit to the beautiful and well-equipped Museum of Computer Science in Palo Alto—was our guided day trip to Silicon Valley.

Highly recommended – the Computer Museum in Palo Alto gives a wonderfully instructive overview of the development of the computer industry from the very beginning until today

All the Apple, Google, and Meta headquarters are like fortresses, almost invisible from the outside, where these companies don’t even welcome visitors to introduce themselves.

And the so-called “Visitor Centers,” which they all offer, are nothing more than stores. I seriously wondered why I spent $300 and a whole day on a bus to visit an Apple Store, a Google Store, and a Meta Store far from San Francisco. Simply ridiculous, but it fits perfectly with all these purely materialistic and completely unethical technology companies.

What I can confirm to all of you after our return to Brazil is that the famous American writer Mark Twain was absolutely right when he said: “The coldest winter I ever suffered in my life was a summer in San Francisco.” The city has a very special climate, where extreme heat and extreme cold, with strong winds, frequently alternate, especially during summer.

Just another good reason for me to return to São Paulo, albeit with a bad cold.

I hope this brief account of my experiences in and with Gringolandia hasn’t misled you. I mean, everyone has their own criteria and expectations. And that’s more than fine. But, like it or not, I stick to mine.

Hi my friends, followers and other folks, 

it`s a quite long while ago that I adressed to you here in my blog. Sorry for that, but I had good reasons for excusing myself.  Since I took over actively my new function and responsability as General Manager of the shortly before founded brandnew company RINGSPANN do Brasil, I have been restlessly creating this company, its processes and initiating its business since October 2024..

Those of you who are already familiar with what doing business in Brazil in the daily practice means, for sure know what I am referring to. 

Brazil is a huge country, almost an own continent, blessed with all good things humans can imagine. A wonderfully diverse landscape, 8.000 km of superb beaches, a very pleasant climate, abundance of drinking water, all kinds of tasty food, an energy matrix of 90% renewables  and a practically unlimited quantity of all kinds of natural and mineral resources.

All this sounds like a description of heaven. Isn`t it? But then there are the  Brazilians. Wonderful, lovely, friendly, open-minded, optimistic, creative and helpful people, at least most of the 200 millions of them. 

But good people – as Brazil and, by the way, most of the surrounding South American countries show us – are unfortunately not necessarily a synonym for good politics and administration.

At least since the 50`s of the last century it has come clear, that for many sad political and social reasons, Brazil has not become yet Stefan Zweig`s “Land of the Future”. 

But – thanks God – Brazilians, unlike Stefan Zweig, (normally) don`t commit suicide and believe firmly, that if we haven`t gotten there yet, this is just a proof that we need to continue more until we get there.

Don`t worry – I will not be boring you now with a detailed description of all the beaurocracy, obstacles and setbacks which I faced during the first 4 months as employee number one and the only employee of our newborn company.

But he Brazilians are very creative people. They have  cultivated over the last centuries a capability called “jogo de cintura” (“waist game”), which allows them to evade adverse situations in a very intelligent way without losing faith and motivation.

After 30 years of experience in living and working in Brazil – although my passport continues still German – I have no doubts, that I can with full rights consider myself a firmly adapted immigrant of German origins, like so many others of my fellow countrymen, who settled in this country since the 18^th century or even earlier.

For this reason – and for sure because of my large business and management experience in Brazil – I never ever, since I landed for the first at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo during April 12th, 1996, thought about throwing my towel. 

April 11th, 1996 actually was a memorable date for the Germans. It was the day when a large fire broke out at Düsseldorf Airport, from where I had flown to Frankfurt during the same day for catching my connection flight to São Paulo.

Those were (also) good days – freshly arrived in Brazil during April 1996…

Evil voices said then, that I had put the fire there when leaving Germany, which in a literal sence could even have been the case, because I had been truly bored by Germany, when I followed the invitation to take over a new position a project manager in Brazil for my employer HENKEL. 

May I tell you a secret ? Since April 12th, 1996 my life never has become boring again !!!

As I am writing this, I am lying on my Airbnb bed in Monterosso al Mare in the incredibly beautiful Cinque Terre region in northern Italy, where my amazing wife Selma, my great son Gabriel and I will be finishing our European holidays 2025 in 3 days only.

We`re having fun… Selma is the most wonderful complement of my life.

But I consider my holiday mission completed with excellence.  My batteries – like the newest chinese generation of fast-loading long-reach sodium batteries – are full again

The Richest Man in Babylon – Thievery Corporation

I love the music of the American band Thievery Corporation, a duo which plays a style that mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, raggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern music, hip hop, electronica and bossa nova.

And I actually feel like “The Richest Man in Babylon”…

Next monday I`ll be up and running again – in my home gym on the threatmill early in the mornings and on the job at RINGSPANN do Brasil together again with my colleague Celso – and – from next monday on – together with our new wonderful colleague Maura.

Please do not consider this as a binding commitment, but I plan to write my next post here in my blog at the beginning of june, when I`ll be travelling home again to São Paulo from my next business trip to Germany.

although the year 2024 is not completely over yet, I have decided to lean out of the window and write a short summary right now.

First of all because I need a break from working and because writing – the same as doing sports, reading, watching movies and listening to music – means relaxation & pleasure for me.

I am quite sure that You also sometimes have the feeling, that You have made so large – good & bad – experience in Your live so far, that You hardly expect any more big surprises for the future.

But at least in my case this does definitely not come true. Every new moment, day, week, month and year brings along new experiences and surprises for me. And that`s wonderful. I truly love this open live…

Definitely – I`m a heppy man…

The year 2024 started with really big challenges for me.

Since I knew that I´d have to invent myself completely once again because of my planned “retirement” at VULKAN do Brasil (https://www.vulkan.com/pt/localizacoes/brasil), where I was President during the last 10 years with responsability for our (no longer mine!) factory in Itatiba, São Paulo, for our (also no longer mine!) 3 sales divisions in Brazil, for our (also over now!) industrial divison in the whole Latin America region incl. Mexico, Central America, The Caribbean and all South America and during the years 2018 – 2023 for the business development of the industrial division of the VULKAN Group in Australia and subSahara Africa, I needed to develop new plans for my own, from now on totally independent, personal & professional life.

A really “hard nut” was for me how to get myself reintegrated into my familly. After 20 years of continuos total dedication to my work and consecutive global, regional and local travelling, I discovered quickly, when I stayed at home, that my wonderful wife Selma and our great sons Geywison and Gabriel had developped totally independent from me own lives. I felt like a prisoner or soldier who came home after 20 years and nobody noted him.

But thanks to our wonderful familly relationship we finally managed to overcome this big challenge after a couple of hard – for all of us – months and we are one heppy familly now once again.

With regards to my upcoming formal, official retirement at VULKAN for the end of august 2024 it was very clear for me that I needed to find new opportunities for doing business and for earning money, so that my familly and I would be able to continue with our normal way of live.

During the first 5 months this year I let my creativity freely inspire me and developped several non-traditional, in comparison to my professional activities as executive for industrial companies during the last 20 years, new business ideas.

One of these was the idea to prepare and launch an own start-up company. The business idea behind it was great and I still believe somebody will realize this one day. I even had found a dream partner for our new company and we actually had already signed contracts. But when new business perspectives and opportunities came up for me, we decided to refrain from this project.

Another dream also grew up in my brain and heart. And I still continue to develop it, although only in very small steps due to my new main occupations and responsabilities. The subject of this dream is to built my own virtual community “Klaus`s Tribe” and to actively utilise with it for lots of different purposes.

From June 2024 on I have – supported by my wonderful friends from the small but highly experienced and creative digital marketing agency AMPLIA (https://amplia.derybr.com.br/) – started to create a new visual appearance for my own company KFH Services (kfhservices.com).

I became so excited about marketing and branding ideas, which I somehow already knew quite well from my Managing Director times for Schwarzkopf & Henkel (https://www.henkel.com/our-businesses/schwarzkopf-20376) in Spain during the years 2000-2003, where I was responsible for a cosmetics factory and where – during 4 years – I had worked very closely together with my colleagues of the German & Spanish marketing departments, which was like an MBA in marketing for me.

When 4 German industrial companies invited me to visit their companies and factories in Germany at the end of August, several interesting discussions happened and only 2 weeks after my return from there my contractual agreement with the excellent German global leader for mechanical power transmission solutions, the globally acting RINGSPANN Group (https://www.ringspann.com/en), to become the General Manager, registered and personally liable Administrator and Legal Representant of the new Brazilian subsidiary RINGSPANN do Brasil (https://ringspann.com.br/) resulted.

Since then I have been – nontheless my contract forsees only half-day work – actively working 48 hours during 7 days per week and thus the progress, which I could achive with the creation and establishment of our brandnew company, is – even for me – really impressive.

But thats my own personal work style and cultural & ethical spirit and motivation. There will be plenty of time for relaxing after the end of my live. No need nor interest to speed this up.

A really moving moment – during November 29 Sergio Bertuol, the owner, constructor and landlord of our small but very beautiful rented building in Vinhedo, São Paulo, handed the keys over to me.

So far I have no shame in patting myself on the back, as I definitely can report several missions successfully accomplished.

As I have mentionned earlier already , this year has also been a very rich year for me when it comes to creativity, innovation and – last not least – very beautiful cultural inspirations.

In April Selma and I visited the wonderful Dali exhibition in Sao Paulo.

And one month later we enjoyed a marvellous “Candle Light” Queen music presentation with acoustical classical instruments in Campinas.

When it comes to music, I discovered two marvelous bands, who I really love and listen endlessly.

One of them is Baila Nova (https://www.wearebailanova.com/), a vintage bossa nova band in which no member comes from Brazil.

Laura Vall, born in Barcelona, sings wonderfully in portuguese language, but she also performs in english. Here`s one of my favorite songs:

And the other band is Thiervery Corporation (https://thieverycorporation.com/), an American electronic music duo (nowadays).

Their musical style mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, reggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern music, hip hop electronica, and Brazilian music, including bossa nova.

And what about my literature discoveries during 2024.

One of the writers I like most has always been Cervantes. And I have started reading once again his incredible Don Quijote de la Mancha (I stick to the origian name) novel.

This time in the spanish EDICIÓN CONMEMORATIVA IV CENTENÀRIO CERVANTES edition, published at the beginning of the year 2016 by RAE, the REAL ACADEMIA ESPANHOLA.

The other famous writer which I adore as a fountain of endless inspiration, and which I am fully enjoying now as well, is William Shakespeare.

By the way, as Chat-GPT lets us know: While it’s often said that William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes died on the same day, April 23, 1616, this is not entirely accurate due to differences in calendars used at the time.

• Shakespeare’s death: Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616, according to the Julian calendar, which was still in use in England at the time.

And I have also started to read into the publications of Leandro Karnal, a brazilian writer and filosopher.

You see – 2024 is not over yet, but it was really a “fat year” for me.

During the next days I`ll finish some very urgent work still, but then I will enjoy a relaxing X-mas time together with my familly at home, before we will fly for 10 days to our second home in Recife, about 2.500 km in the northeast from Sao Paulo.

And on monday, January 6, 2025 I`ll be up and “fighting like hell” again for the growth and success of RINGSPANN do Brasil.

I am right now sitting in the LATAM lounge at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, waiting for my flight departure tonight to Frankfurt, Germany. I really love to spent several hours relaxing, means working, at the airports before long distance flights. No hurry, no stress, just beeing with myself, reading, writing, listening to music…

As I mentionned during my last post in this blog, I have a certain backlog of rich content for sharing with You. Today I will relate to You about my participation in the wonderful 1st Horasis Global Meeting South America during 24 – 27 October 2024 in beautiful Vitória, Espirito Santo, Brazil.

But let me at first explain to You, how it came to my participation in this spectacular event, until then I didn`t even know about Horasis (horasis.org), when early in September my great friend Fabiana Monteiro (https://www.linkedin.com/in/fabianagphrsbrasil/), founder,owner and publisher of the prestigious Editora Global Partners (Editora Global Partners: Posts | LinkedIn) called me. Fabiana asked me if I wanted to substitute her as panel speaker in Vitória because due to an important private commitment she unfortunately would no be able to participate there.

I looked Horasis up in the internet and it came immediately clear to me, that this would be a fantastic opportunity for me, to get to know personally soon with many interesting people from allover the world on ocasion of a highly exciting event with an excellent agenda of contents.

Fabiana was happy about my acceptation and passed my contact further to Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter (https://www.linkedin.com/in/frrichter/), the Founder and Chair of Horasis, the independent, international think tank headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.

During my short online conference with Frank we discovered that we have both studied at the KIT – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology https://www.kit.edu/english/) and he happily confirmed my participation as panel speaker.

the ongoing highly active and productive fase of my new independent life increases continuously the backlog of important experiences, which I would like to share with You here in my blog.

Today it`s the turn for sharing with You some impressions and insights from the wonderful “Nature Quest” event, which I have gained together with a wonderful small group of international friends on the eve of our joint participation in the 1st Global Horasis Meeting South America in Vitoria, Brazil, at the end of October 2024 in the enchanting “Rolling Hills” region in the interior of the beautiful state of Espirito Santo.

When Dr. Frank-Jürgen Richter (https://www.linkedin.com/in/frrichter/), the Founder and Chair of Horasis (https://horasis.org/), an independent, international think tank headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, invited me to participate as speaker in 2 panels during the spectacular event in Vitoria, I also received the invitation to participate together with a very small group of people from around the globe in the pre-event “Nature Quest”.

The organisers of our “Nature Quest” experience were Benjamin J. Butler (https://www.benjaminjbutler.com/) and Sujith Ravindran (https://www.iofc.ch/sujith-ravindran), two very impressive and quite famous personalities and spiritual leaders.

When I registered as participant, I was purely driven by my curiosity. I had no clue what would expect me and I knew none of the other participants, including Benjamin and Sujith.

It all started with our arrival at the quite small and very simple, rustic farm an hour’s drive from Vitoria in the mountains. All participants arrived one after the other so that we could get to know each other. Sujith and Benjamin welcomed all of us warmly.

What were Benjamins and Sujith`s intentions and plans with regards to our 3 days “Nature Quest” escape event from our normal lives and routines?

We should, for this very limited period of time, leave all our common material prosperity and our routine daily agendas behind us and instead of this enjoy the spiritual experiences and inspirations of Sujith and Benjamin altogether without prejudice, as a gift for us.

It doesn´t make much sence – nor for me nor for you – to give You a detailed report about everything and all we did together during these 3 event days. Instead of this here in a nutshell. We hiked for 3 days in the beautiful mountains and participated in the numerous spiritual activities, including meditation, poems, deep conversations, intensive exchange of ideas and personal experiences and we practiced altogether some fisical exercises instructed and supervised by Benjamin and Sujith.

Instead of much description of our beautiful joint experiences I rather prefer to share plenty of visual impressions from this unique nature experience with You.

And for sure our guides and new friends Benjamin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/benjaminjbutler/) and Sujith (Sujith Ravindran | LinkedIn.)

The advantage of such a small group is clearly, that – even during a very short time period available – You come very close to each other and get to know each other quite nicely.

The beautiful landscape has made it easy for us to temporarily forget our normal everyday life…

One of the richnesses of our “Nature Quest” event was, that all participants were from different countries, continents and had totally different personal & professional backgrounds.

During 3 wonderfully inspiring days the path was our only goal…

The intensive mix of amazing nature and landscape discoveries and spiritual group experiences made this event unique for me. I admit frankly spoken that I never have been very open minded towards spiritual ideas and experiences. My “Nature Quest” event participation did not change my mind completely with regards to spiritualism, but it opened it up.

What impressed me deeply was, that during our mountain hikes we came to many nature situations which gave the impression of doors…

And what I also liked very much were the typical quick brazilian (by the way – I found the same nature phenomenon during my intensive travels in Africa) daylight changes in the morning and in the evening…

During our hikes, which in parts were quite steep and challenging, we made short breaks for recovery of our forces and for drinking water. During the days it was quite hot and we always enjoyed it very much when we could walk a while in the shady woods.

“Nature Quest” mission completed – conclusion of our joint escape experience and departure back to Vitória for the opening of the great Horasis Global Meeting event.

Hi everybody,

I need to write this out to You right now, because I already have so many beautiful and interesting news in my pipeline, which I would like to share with You, and I don`t want to run the risk, to lose this opportunity because of so many more new events, travels and activities coming up next.

And the moment for me to write this post could not be better. I have just finished a fully wonderful week of participation in the AMCHAM Brazil Mission to Recife, at 2652 road kilometres distance from the small town Vinhedo in the interior of Sao Paulo state, where I live, and where we altogether – a group of approx. 100 empreneurs and executives from all over Brazil – have participated in the great Rec`n Play (https://recnplay.pe/) event, a festival of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship with more than 70.000 participants.

But I will not give You insights today about my participation in our Mission and my personal & professional experiences during Rec`n Play and this week in Recife, my 2nd home since meanwhile 20 years.

As most of You have already become aware from my frequent publications in linkedin (www.linkedin.com/in/klaus-friedrich-hepp-51991520) and instagram/facebook (klausfhepp), I have been travelling and participating in exciting events non-stop since my “Independence Day” September 1st, 2024.

Today, saturday, was a wonderfully warm day here in Candeias, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Greater Recife, where my familly owns a small but very beautiful “flat” in a tall building close to the beach. Actually this has meanwhile become my 2nd home besides our house in Vinhedo, Sao Paulo, and I always fully enjoy the totally natural, non-touristic ambient in this part of the city, where hardly foreigners end up and where the local residents go after their normal occupations without any hectic and stress.

Now its night and I have just returned from my evening walk on the still crowded beach. Time does not stand still here, but it definitely doesn`t fly…

What I have chosen as content for sharing with You tonight is my last week`s participation in the incredible AMCHAM Talks 2024 (https://talks.amcham.com.br/) in Campinas, an important and very beautiful Festival of Tendencies & Innovation.

Actually during abril this year, when I decided to do the re-branding and facelift for KFH IM & Consulting Services Ltda (kfhservices.com), my own company, which I had founded immediately after my arrival from Mexico back (home) to Brazil during 2010, I came to the conclusion that I should present myself and my freshly relaunched company to the public and participate in an appropriate public event.

Finally, when I decided during june to join AMCHAM, which I knew and esteemed since many years, as an associate with my company, it was an almost natural consequence that I decided to become a sponsor for AMCHAM Talks 2024 and to participate with an own exhibitor booth and a panel speech.

On the eve of AMCHAM Talks my friends and supporters from the amazingly creative small brazilian digital marketing agency AMPLIA (amplia.derybr.com.br) and I had a last detailed look at our booth and cleared out some remaining organizational questions.

What made me feel extremely happy and proud was the fact, that my lovely wife Selma and our great sons Gabriel and Geywison promised to participate together with me and many of our friends all day in the event.

It was a wonderful day and event. Many friends visited us at our booth and I also made a lot of new friends. At this kind of events almost all participants are totally openminded, have interesting experience & qualification backgrounds, like to make new acquaintances and love to exchange experiences & insights. To be true – the main objective for most of us as participants in such events is the excellent opportunity for networking and getting to know new things.

For sure my panel speech under the title “From Employee to Entrepreneur: Paths & Learnings” was the absolute highlight of the day for me, my familly our friends. I admit that I was not nervous at all before and during my speech. I have lost the nervosity during such acts completely several years ago. For sure due to my numerous speeches, presentations and round table and discussion panel participations during all these years and in many different countries. Today I fully enjoy it as a form of expression and communication with the different audiences.

What impressed all of us at Campinas was the great number of people listening to my speech.

I since ever prefer to speak freely to the audience instead of having a prepared, written down speech text.

Wow – a real crowd of listeners to my speech…

Now I will share two real insights with You:

1st insight: It was very moving for me to receive such a lot of warm-hearted and supportive compliments about the beauty of my branding, my booth and recognition and approval about my speech from so many wonderful people.

2nd insight: My friends from “my” digital marketing agency Amplia had – with the help of AI – prepared a “movie” about all stages of my life from out of a lot of fotos, which really deeply impressed me. The only detail which I did not like at all was that they – for technical reasons – needed to substitute the heads of my two beloved rabbits by heads of two cats…

Dear readers and followers of my blog,

quite some time has passed since my latest post here shortly after my “Independence Day” September 1st, 2024, but I can assure You that during these several weeks I have been extremely busy and productive and that lots of wonderful things and decisions have happened since.

Earlier this year, preparing myself for my “retirement” negociated with the VULKAN Group for August 31st, 2024, I took some fundamental decisions with respect to my future professional activities

First of all I decided that 40 years of employeeship for (all of them) 1st class German industrial companies in Europe, North America and South America were enough for me and that I was no longer interested in permanent employeeship for any companies for the future.

Instead of this I would from now on only offer my highly qualified, fully dedicated and absolutely reliable services for any interested companies as service provider through my own interim management & consulting company kfhservices.com.

Secondly I defined that I did never again in my life want to provide my professional services to only one customer at any moment.

And – last not least – I decided, that I did not want to provide only one type of professional services to customers at any moment.

At the first glance this appeared difficult to practice, but during the first talks to serveral potential customers in Brazil and in Germany, it came clear that the companies in general (at least the ones I talked to about this) are much more flexible towards such ideas and even recognize quickly the advantages and opportunities for themselfes. Means, from the beginning these demands were all but “no go`s” in our negotiations.

Important for me to mention something here. I did not look up any company for offering my services. All opportunities arose from contacts by these companies who looked me up by themselfes.

I received a handfull of interesting offers for the supply of different services and about 6 weeks ago I entered final negociations with the German industrial company RINGSPANN (ringspann.com), a globally leading developper and supplier of a wide portfolio of all kinds of mechanical power transmission components like couplings, overload clutches, brakes, freewheels, shaft hub connections and precision clamping fixtures for industrial applications.

Together with Mr. Fabian Maurer, Managing Director, and Mr. Ernst Fritzemeier, Director, at the headquarters and factory of the RINGSPANN Group in Bad Homburg, Germany

And last week RINGSPANN and I have finally signed my service contract, within the which I have been named – on half-day basis – as General Manager, Administrator and Legal Representant of the freshly founded Brazilian subsidiary RINGSPANN do Brasil of the globally acting RINGSPANN Group for an initial period of 3 years.

Small but important detail – RINGSPANN is a global competitor of Vulkan.com, my former employer, when it comes to industrial business.

With full transparency and without any conflict with RINGSPANN and it`s business, fully tolerated by RINGSPANN, I am now negotiating to become also the commercial representant for the one or other German industrial company in Brazil.

In the end all companies involved in these negotiations have understood that this multiple commitment is highly attractive for each of them and enriches my service provision for them.

And besides this – for sure within my remaining free capacity (f.e. during the weekends) – it has clearly been outspoken and confirmed, that I may freely continue all my other business projects and hobbies, like the creation of my series “Aforismos de Klaus”, my virtual community “Tribu do Klaus” and my mentoring & coaching services for individuals.

You see – dreams can come true, if You develop these properly and fight for them. I admit frankly that I am terribly proud about my success in getting all these dreams realized.

I have always during the last 25 years in all my functions as Project Manager, General Manager, Managing Director, CEO and President for several market- and technology leading, globally active German industrial companies of totally different fields of activities (project management for companies producing chemicals, detergents & adhesives, and general management for companies doing cosmetics, automotive – powertrain, automotive – interior, packaging machinery for the food & pharmaceutical industry, heat exchangers for the oil & gas industry and mechanical power transmission components) considered honestly acting, professional competitors as highly appreciated because they keep us awake and make us improve ourselfes and what we are doing constantly.

Seen this way, I am looking forward now in a sporting manner, to measure myself and the company, for which I provide my professional services from now on, with my former employer VULKAN.

And for sure – all my personal friendships with the many of my former employees and colleagues from VULKAN, namely from VULKAN do Brasil (https://www.vulkan.com/en/locations/brazil), will continue unchanged when it comes to our personal relations, but – also for sure – in our professional relationships we altogether have become “frenemies” from now on.

Last tuesday I had the enormous pleasure to participate in the annual AMCHAM Talks innovation & networking event with an own booth of my company KFH Services and I held a speech about my own personal & professional experiences together with my great friends and supporters from the digital marketing agency AMPLIA (amplia.derybr.com.br).

What made me especially happy was that my lovely wife Selma and our two wonderful sons Gabriel and Geywison could spent the whole day together with me at this exciting event in Campinas, Sao Paulo.
